Wisconsin’s Black Window Renaissance

Developed and designed over a hundred years ago, black steel windows were often used throughout the country in industrial buildings.  In fact, when you drive through downtown Milwaukee you can still find some, although they are extremely rare.  As steel became more expensive, black steel windows fell out of favor and were replaced with more cost efficient alternatives.
